October!

October arrives on Thursday...that just blows my mind. I cannot believe that we are into the "holiday season" (if you count Halloween and Thanksgiving) already. Time to get the costumes ready (and hope they don't change their minds), and gear up for the craziness that surrounds it all. Lots of fun "fall" events happening this week in Charlotte...get out and have some fun with the family!

Pumpkin Patch Time

Hard to believe, but it is indeed Pumpkin Patch Time. The weather is cooling down (hopefully for good this time), so that means it's time for the traditional visit to the pumpkin patch. Lots of patches to choose from, but two of our favorites are Hodges Family Farm and Hall Family Farm. Both open for the season this weekend...check them out!

Yiasou Greek Festival

If you do nothing cultural in the Queen City for the rest of the year, at least make it a point to go to the Yiasou Greek Festival this week. This is a staple of Charlotte's fall calendar, and an absolute favorite and MUST DO for my family. The food is amazing. There ares ride for the kids, Greek dancing, cultural lectures, art and artifact displays, and of course tours of the stunning Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Carve time out of your calendar this week for this event...you won't regret it.

This is the 200th post for The Queen City Buzz. Hard to believe this blog has been bringing you the Buzz on kid and family friendly activities in the Charlotte area for almost FOUR years. I started this blog right as my twins turned 2, and tomorrow they begin Kindergarten...time sure does fly by. I hope you enjoy this weekly post. One last week...

Ah Summer 2015...it was nice knowin' ya. It's almost time for backpacks and lunchboxes, bus rides and LOTS of paperwork. One last week (for 2 of my 3, with one back to the books on Tuesday) of "fun in the sun", pools, popsicles, and staying up past bedtime. Lots of ways to celebrate "The End" of summer this week in Charlotte (including Carowinds...this is the last week that it's open during the week). Don't miss out.
