Mompreneurs

OK, yes, I hate the word "mompreneur", but I think those that are such are awesome. Love that there are so many right here in the Queen City!! A few I think you should check out: Kersnickety Clothing (ahhdorable things for your little ones), Multiple Blessings (fantastic finds for the home), and Bow Buddies (genius!!). Are there others that QC Buzz readers should know about? Email us about them, or post on our Facebook page!

Just a Week Boutique

Two such mompreneurs started Just a Week Boutique earlier this year, and their Fall Sale is this weekend. Here's all you need to know for a fun shopping adventure:

"Just a Week Boutique is holding their second sale September 20-22 in Pineville.  We will be located in The Centrum Shopping Plaza, right across the street from The Carolina Place Mall (next door to Kmart).  We will be open for volunteers, consignors, new mommies, and pre-sale pass winners on Wednesday, September 19.  All proceeds from consignor registrations will be donated to The Isabella Santos Foundation, and we will be having a "juice box drive" to benefit Bright Blessings!  We will have a great selection of fall/winter clothing, toys, equipment, bedding, and more!  We will also have a few vendors, including Mary Kay, Thirty-One, and custom children's bows!  Donated items will be given to Baby Bundles!  Come out and join us!"

Have a wonderful week!!

Blessings,
The Buzz

100 Days of Real Food...Really???

It's everywhere. The "real food" craze is here, and let's hope it's not a passing craze. Our kids (OK, OK, and us too) eat a whole lot of junk. Not just "junk food", but stuff made with real, live junk (have you read the ingredients of what you're putting in the lunch box Tuesday?). I've been trying to get better at feeding my kids REAL food...natural food...fruits, veggies, whole grains, but it's hard!!

Unless you have an AWESOME mommy friend like JC, who is leading her family on a journey of "100 Days of Real and Really Local Food". Yep, you read that right...one. hundred. days. of only REAL and only LOCAL food. Not only is she leading her sweet family on this journey, but she is blogging about the WHOLE thing. We're talking shopping lists (what and where to buy), recipes, and full daily meal plans. Click the What House Wife image below to check out her awesomeness (and making it easier for the rest of us). I have such admiration for this mama...she is truly amazing. Thanks JC for being REAL and for being you!!

Ready for this?

Fall? Fleece jacket weather? I spent the weekend with the kids at a church retreat in the mountains. Definitely not cold, but definitely chilly enough at night for a fire, a fleece, and s'mores!! I have to admit that it was quite lovely. I do love summer, but fall weather is pretty fantastic in The Queen City, so I'm definitely ready for it to move on in.

Happy back to school to lots of you this week. One more week to go preschool moms (2 more if you're one of the lucky duckies whose school is delayed for the DNC...ugh!!!). Hope everyone has a great week!!

Blessings,

The Buzz

Winding Down

Spending a few last precious days at the beach with the kids, holding onto the last bit of summer. Teacher letters came last week, open houses are scheduled and on the calendar, and medical forms are printed out and heading to the pediatrician's office early this week (please tell me I'm not the only one who waits until the last minute for this). One last year of all 3 being in preschool...I am really going to try to cherish all of it before BIG school comes next fall!! Hope all of you are soaking up the last few days of summer!!

Blessings,
The Buzz

MULTIPLE Reasons...

To shop the CMOMs Consignment Sale this weekend!!

I'm a little biased because I am a CMOM (Charlotte Mothers of Multiples) member, but truly this is one of the best sales every season. The members consign SO many great items (I just finished tagging my 429 items today...multiples means lots of stuff), and since the consigning members can earn up to 90% of their sales, the prices are AMAZING! Smocked clothing in the boutique section for as little as $10, strollers, riding toys, cribs, bedding, TOYS (huge selection of toys for all ages) and so much more. Also, proceeds from the sale go directly to CMOM programming which includes helping our members in need with supplies & gear when needed (having multiples can be pricey, too). The sale is Saturday, August 11th. Early bird shopping begins at 7:30am with a $2 admission, and then FREE admission after 8:30am. The sale will again be held at The Park Expo & Conference Center (formerly Charlotte Merchandise Mart), and parking is FREE. Cash, Visa and MasterCard are accepted, and please NO strollers or carts. Plan to check The Queen City Buzz's Facebook Page on Thursday night and Friday for pictures from the sale floor!!

Blessings,
The Buzz
